Today I was talking to someone who is close to me. The whole conversation reminded me what David Brooks said: “Emotion is the foundation of reason because it tells us what to value”. Once we know what to value then we understand how to prioritize them. It gives us certain benchmark so that we know what is important. Without emotion, we might not understand what’s the important to us and thus miss out on what life at its best can offer us. I guess we miss out in one way or the other anyway and suffer on the way to wisdom. May the lord bless us!

ReplyDeleteSometimes we understand what's important to us, but we choose not to take what is offered. Perhaps, not every emotion leads to a sound reasoning.
